Research metrics are frequently used when evaluating journals, articles and research output, but different indicators measure different things. This introductory workshop will examine citation counts, journal-level indicators, author metrics and other forms of scholarly measurement. Participants will also learn why metrics should be interpreted in context rather than used as interchangeable measures of research quality.
